They managed to keep the Konami logo intact despite the rest of the game using the GEMS sound driver.

  11. Ryan Loring on March 23, 2021 at 11:22 pm

The SNES version is far superior to this.

Level 3, you walked right past the popsicles and tomatoes. I can understand the tomatoes, but those popsicles are great against blobs!

  18. valtiansrevenge86ed on March 23, 2021 at 11:25 pm

Thank you for this version. Most playthroughs I come across usually have the SNES version instead.

  19. Gebel Hayter on March 23, 2021 at 11:27 pm

Oof this version is not great, they didn’t know how to make the sound chip work for them.

Loved this game on my genesis. I never beat it. I always didn’t know what to do on the level where those worms come out the ground.

  27. JM HV on March 23, 2021 at 11:31 pm

The only sound I like is the splash you make while going into and out of the water.

  28. KitsyKat OfFun on March 23, 2021 at 11:33 pm

To be honest, this version feels more like a PC game.

  29. akmarie on March 23, 2021 at 11:34 pm

  30. Scurge237 on March 23, 2021 at 11:34 pm

  31. Shane Eckel on March 23, 2021 at 11:36 pm

  34. Mark Doherty on March 23, 2021 at 11:44 pm

The soundtrack and sound effects are so vivid…I’m ten again, lying on the floor playing this with my brothers. If I remember right there was a two player mode. Never owned the game, used to rent it from the video shop 😂

  35. becomeanolive1 on March 23, 2021 at 11:48 pm

If you like this, than you will really like Herc’s Adventure on the 32-bit systems.

  36. Grandpa Theobald on March 23, 2021 at 11:48 pm

The audio is trash compared to SNES, I’m apalled. 0.o
Hard to believe the same audio chip reproduced Streets of Rage OST. Wrong hands, I guess. But the game is still a masterpiece.

Awesome game from my childhood <3

  38. Artkidtek on March 23, 2021 at 11:51 pm

SNES is different as far as the music. I grew up on the SNES version and never made it passed the 5th level lol

  39. Matthew Benoit on March 23, 2021 at 11:53 pm

That black status bar in the right of the screen gives an 80s arcade feel for some reason

    great game!

  42. Blasco32 on March 23, 2021 at 11:55 pm

Very nice video!in my opinion this sega genesis version its graphicaly better than the snes version, obiously the snes version has the best music

  43. SinistroTop69 on March 23, 2021 at 11:55 pm

The ost and the sfx sounds pretty weird for me, maybe becuse i played more the SNES one then this, but DAMN.

  44. Dário Sá on March 23, 2021 at 11:56 pm

This is one of the hardest games ever made and none of my friends and I were able to end it except for the mother of one of them that played all day long :).
At those times all games were challenging. Nowadays I feel that all the games are easy and scripted.
