Iirc shadow of mordor on 7th gen consoles had a neutered nemesis system because of ram limitations.

  2. Retro Galaxy on April 25, 2021 at 12:08 am

I think the hardware improvement was necessary, but the games themselves were disappointing. PS4 exclusives were mostly these same story-driven third person over-the-shoulder games and Xbox One had almost no exclusives. Compare PS3 version of MGSV to PS4 version, more aliasing, worse frame-rate, lower resolution, worse draw distance etc. It can run the game, but it’s like playing pc game low setting vs high or ultra setting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MRAKzpuRAzo

The battlefield games can’t be sent to ps3 or xbox 360 because of the cpu. You would have to decrease the maximum number of players.

  5. valistrutu on April 25, 2021 at 12:11 am

    ps4 60 fps >ps3 30 fps !

  6. Pao Chongloi on April 25, 2021 at 12:11 am

It’s like saying 420p to 720p or 1080p was a huge leap but 1080p-1440p is not a huge leap.
No doubt but your argument is too pointless can only see as just another video who just need to justify it’s statement for the sake of it than presenting the real deal.

  7. Kusuma Yogi on April 25, 2021 at 12:12 am

You mean pointless because 7th gen to 8th gen have less graphical Leap.

So you need try ps4 Exclusives like killzone shadowfall, driveclub, and uncharted 4.
That games show huge graphical Leap over 7th gen consoles.

  8. dest151 on April 25, 2021 at 12:13 am

    I agree..ps4 was piece of crap. I’m on my third ps4! I hate ps4

  9. Not Jack on April 25, 2021 at 12:14 am

Witcher 3 would make a 360 implode. They could probably modify the engine to make it work but CD Projekt are the only next gen studio IMO

  10. Entertainment on April 25, 2021 at 12:14 am

I disagree Sony was in a rush to get a ps4 out because ps3 was a bitch to code for and in general it had been 8 years at this point developers wanted new hardware for developers and consumers at that point and it’s not like either really sold well compared to the ps2 or ps1

  16. Chris Bampton on April 25, 2021 at 12:34 am

The Xbox one should have released in 2010 since it was underpowered at launch, a pc graphic cards with the same performance first came out in 2008.
Also the mid gen refresh we had with the PS4 pro and Xbox one x should have been the next gen but with a better CPU

  18. Perry on April 25, 2021 at 12:35 am

In saying what I said I have to say I agree with you saying XB1X and PS4P should have been the first 8th gen systems.

  19. Nicomanism on April 25, 2021 at 12:38 am

Realistically, 8th Home Console Gaming was
stale, repetitive, and not exciting. You had only
some AAA Western Titles that were new, and "unique" ; and thats that. The only excitement
you needed to find quality games in 8th Gen
would be the Eastern market, aka import scene.
Not many care PS3, PS4, PS5 are full region free ; which means you can play any import game on your USA Playstation 3, 4 or 5 console.
And in my opinion, thats a huge library

  21. Re4wii2010 on April 25, 2021 at 12:40 am

It’s ironic for me, I got the Wii U launch day november 18th, 2012 from walmart and the whole generation the only new games i got on it were dkc trople freeze, bayonetta 2, ssb wii u, and mario kart 8 the rest of the time I just used the wii u as a way to play games from my childhood like windwaker, twilight princess, wii sports, pikmin 1 new play controls, super mario galaxy 2, metroid prime trilogy, and so many more virtual console games like oot, sm64, mario kart 64, mario & luigi superstar saga, mario vs donkey kong, metroid nes, super mario rpg, tloz alttp, paper mario and so many more. The Wii U was the pointless console that ig never existed nothing would of changed in my eyes. i 2013 nintendo tried to push the wii u with dr luigi, wii sports club (A remaster of Wii Sports that you could only rent for 24 hours and have to keep paying to rent again until they come out with a physical edition in 2014) game and wario which was a remake of a earlier wario ware game, and wind waker hd! It still baffles me how some people wonder how the Wii U failed so badly when it was launched with such pathetic software and took for ever for new stuff to come out! I remember when knack outsold super mario 3d world in uk in 2013 people lost their shit and well what did anyone expect when the Wii U sold less in a year than the ps4 sold inn48 hours in the uk in november 2013! The PS4 atleast pushed for VR which gave me the most insane experinces I ever had in gaming when playing RE7 and astrobot. Xbox atleast tried pushing gamepass in the 8th gen, what did nintendo do in the 8th gen that was so inovative that we will look back on and be like wow that was amazing? 3d in the 3ds? they got sued from sony for using sony’s tech made by a long time Sony emplyee lol! https://www.gamespot.com/articles/nintendo-loses-3ds-patent-lawsuit/1100-6405297/

  22. Calamiro Asjcobeti on April 25, 2021 at 12:42 am

Console looks and plays like shit. Granted you will not see the difference between ps4 and pc when your eyesight is bad, pc will still perform much more smoothly.

  23. Entertainment on April 25, 2021 at 12:43 am

The reason they were so bad is because we were in a recession so they needed to be weak and cheap but also AMD didn’t really have good cpus at the time to deliver a major upgrade. However them being that weak they honestly should’ve been 299 the fact that you could build a pc at that time stronger than the consoles was dumb. When the 360 came out you couldn’t build a pc with the same specs as it for like 1-2 years. I’m still disappointed with the ps5 and series x MAINLY for the lack of a DLSS response but also because there cpus are kinda weak 3.5ghz clocks… really? Both should’ve been 4.0ghz Xbox series x gpu is fine but it clearly has issues since the ps5 is out performing it in games. I think ps5 should’ve been 12 and I think it would’ve been if they didn’t invest so much in the storage. Which… if games only render what your character sees as they claim and if those numbers are true maybe first party games will look insane on ps5 in like 2023 because devs don’t have to waste power on stuff you don’t see but I’ll see it when I see it
In terms of graphics photo realism is honestly a requirement at this point starting late 2022 early 2023 triple A games should be photo realistic

  25. KerrBox on April 25, 2021 at 12:45 am

Remember how sony thought they’d fuck with Microsoft by announcing that the PS4 would not require internet? Too bad all of the games require connectivity in some form, if it’s not DRM, it’s updates. Kind of an empty statement eh sony?

  27. Andrew Fennewald on April 25, 2021 at 12:46 am

Yeah the upgrade from 7th to 8th gen was the first one where I just don’t think it matters much. I spend most of my time on the PS4 playing games that could run on the PS3. I have one because its where the games are but it really wasn’t necessary.

Um….. God of war , uncharted 4 , red dead redemption , the last of us part 2 , Detroit ….all these games won’t work in 7th gen consoles.

  35. appleipodtouch2g on April 25, 2021 at 12:51 am

“If theres even one ps4 or Xbone game that couldnt run on 360 or ps3 let me know”

This is the silliest take i’ve ever heard. The Switch is more powerful than both 360 and ps3 and yet still MAYBE 15%-20% of 8th gen games got releases on the Switch and in a lot of cases Switch ports were unplayable. Literally 80% of all 8th gen games cant run on the Switch which is more powerful than any 7th gen console. The 7th gen consoles were beyond dated by the time the Xbox One and Ps4 came out. Hardware wise the ps4 and Xbox One were kind of weak for their time but they were still several orders of magnitude more powerful than the 360 and ps3.

  36. Ricky Andreou on April 25, 2021 at 12:52 am

I’m just barely old enough to remember the NES & and I’ve was wowed by the leaps made with each console generation until the 8th generation. I couldn’t believe after nearly a decade between consoles, the lack of innovation over the previous generation in terms of visuals and gameplay. There wasn’t a single game that I couldn’t imagine playing a slightly less polished version of on the xbox 360 or the PS3. Add To that the many undesirable features such as massive, mandatory installs, loot boxes, constant mandatory updates, & indie shovelware, etc. This was easily the worst console generation. If we get more of the same garbage in the 9th generation I might just opt out of it entirely

  37. Perry on April 25, 2021 at 12:53 am

I think all x86 consoles are pointless. (Xbox 360, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox One X and PS4 Pro)

  38. KerrBox on April 25, 2021 at 12:54 am

how many last gen games have been ported to the current consoles under the "definitive edition" banner? i really don’t think there are many games this gen that the PS3 couldn’t handle while only looking and running a little worse. easily the biggest pain in the ass of this gen is the games massive installs, you could buy an 80gb PS3, i’m pretty sure that’s the size of the current GTA 5 install, sorry, i don’t want to delete games just so i can buy new ones

  39. OtakuLeveledUp on April 25, 2021 at 12:56 am

Just wait before PS4 and ps5. That’s a small jump other than res and lighting especially for the xbox 1x.

The 8th gen was by far the worst generation. The hardware wasn’t a big upgrade in quality, there was no innovation or creativity with most tripple A games, the industry overall has been ruined by aggressive monopolistic activity and full priced games have been rigged and monetized in the same fashion as free to play mobile games.

  45. The Real OAFs on April 25, 2021 at 1:03 am

We should have gone from ps3 straight to the ps5. There is hardly a difference from ps4 to ps5..

  47. fastn't boi on April 25, 2021 at 1:04 am

here’s what i think: most of the games were built for 7th gen and then ported to 8th gen which kind of explains why they didn’t look that groundbreaking. example: gta v was built for 7th gen and rdr2 was built for 8th gen and it really shows. i do get your point though, and i do agree that they should’ve waited a few more years.

cmon watch_dogs 2 could have been released on 7th gen…

    1st gen: Invents consoles!
2nd gen: True ROM carts invented, many kinds of controllers.
3rd gen: improved graphics, save data possible
4th gen: 16 bit revolution! Controllers getting more sophisticated along with games, cd rom games implemented
    5th gen: online gaming invented,
Graphics greatly improve to 32 bit and 64 bit.
6th gen: online gaming explored more, graphics no longer polygons
7th gen, online gaming perfected, graphics look amazing, motion control gaming implemented
8th gen: slightly improved graphics, update times, broken games, BLM propaganda
    9th gen:?

I Totally Agree, Plus That There Is No Exclusives That Are Only Exclusive For The 8th Generation,And Most Of Them Are Multi Gen Outside Of The First Party Exclusives By Sony And Microsoft, It Feels Pointless,You Just Better Of With The Nintendo Switch Because This Console War Is Just Cringy,It’s Just Consoles Turning In To Pc,And In My Country It’s The Worst!,Because Most The People In My Country Are Playstation Fans For Years,And Since Microsoft Has Gone Better In The Middle East In 2017,It Just Made Worst!, When Arabic PlayStation Fans See Something Bad Has Happened With The Series X They Say: What A Bad Fridge (In Arabic),And The Same Thing In Reverse
Xbox Fans Say:Thank God for the blessing of the Xbox(Also In Arabic), Either Way There Jokes Suck!🤢

For Me I’m Happy With My Nintendo Switch And My Ps4 At The Moment,But
After 2 Years My Only Console Will Be Only Nintendo Consoles,And As For The Rest I’m Gonna Switch To PC.
