Too bad it’s google based. No way, just no way.

Just got the regular Tab S7 for $300 due to their student promotion week thing. Apple sheep is experimenting and hopefully it’ll last me a good few years. Only got it because of the chip, 120hz, and comes with the pen. That and good screen.

  3. jony johan on April 1, 2021 at 11:14 pm

6:30 Samsung should take this point very seriously if it really wants to compete with Apple I mean two or three years nothing for an Apple iPad since 2017 and it’s still getting love

    you’re so fake.

I before you say iPad Pro killer I wana see folks do photoshop on it and do video editing then then say it’s a killer …. so far it just has a great display

I agree about the support aspect of Samsung. I have a Samsung galaxy tab 3 10.1 inch. Its now a useless product except as a emulation device.

Nowadays, nobody wants to keep their tablet/s for 5yrs or more. Also, Ipad, each unnecessary update gets slower… something to consider

*Why you should NOT buy a Tab S7+*

Hello, my name’s Atlacy and I’m a student from Switzerland. I’m quite into tech so I spend basicaly all my money and freetime playing around with gadgets and other random stuff.
I got myself the Tab S7+ in late october of 2020 and have been using it quite a lot for about 4 months. I like it, but at the same time I despise it. I despise it so much, that – even though I don’t own a single other apple product and have optimized my workflow to a windows/samsung based ecosystem, I just sold my S7+ and am currently looking into buying an Ipad Pro.

    1. The pen:
The pen of the Tab S7+ is not bad by any means; It has quite good latency, the tip doesn’t seem to leave scratches/marks on the screen and thanks to its lightweight build, it doesn’t really add any extra weight to your tablet. Now, that’s about all there is in terms of good things to this pen. The pen feels cheap, it even bends slightly as you write/draw with it. It doesn’t feel very sturdy in your hands and due to its short lenght, personaly, I dislike drawing with it. It is a nice perk that it can be stored within the keyboard cover but there are many issues with that aswell; If you don’t get it into the proper resting position but rather losely just drop it into the holder, it will flip inside of it and get stuck. Not to the point where you can’t get it out anymore but to the point where its a quite bothersome occurance. The pen only offers a single button which is – to put it nicely – dogshit. Seriousely. Yes, its nice that you can customize the functions by assigning different actions to different combinations of presses – but its placement is just horrible and pressing it makes you question if you even have some sort of basic sensory perception in your fingers. "Did I press it already? Lemme just try agai- oh no, that was a double press and now I launched another action I didnd’t want" summs up about my general feeling of this button. Overall, its nice that you get the pen for free but at its current state you mightaswell just not have one.

    2. The optimization & the apps:
The Tab S7+ has a lot of power. Plenty to run just about any application you’re thinking of, even if its some rather heavy tasks such as editing. The issue at hand however is the optimization of the apps available: There are hardly any dedicated apps for the tablet. In fact, you’ll be lucky to have an app even scale properly to the tablet instead of just akwardly stretching out whilst losing half of its functionality. Most apps are simply not really functional in their current state and there seems to be absolutely no effort coming from Samsung to insentivize developers to make their apps optimized for the S7+’s canvas. Then there is the issue with the optimization of the software itself. One UI 3.0 and 3.1 are great – I love them on my S21 Ultra. But on the Tab s7+ they simply don’t feel like they were built with "one handed use" in mind. Functions are oftentimes badly labeled, there are hardly any useful explanations of functions online and many basic elements of functionality are just not working. Facial-recognition? Yes, it has it. However it’s unable to detect you if your tablet is in the wrong orientation. Fingerprint-sensor? Yes, it has it and it works surprisingly well – but why does it have to be SO annoying to set up? Samsung pass (faceid alternative) yes, it works – in around 35% of apps/websites. Seriousely, you’re better off using something like bitwarden which hooks directly into your keyboard instead of trying to communicate with the apps. Multitasking outside of Dex? Works – if you use the pen to place the apps. No snapping into place like with the Ipad pro.

    3. Extensions/Gadgets:
Don’t. Just don’t. If the ammount of extras and gadgets available for an Ipad are an ocean, then the ammount of (functional) extras and accessories for the Tab S7+ are a little puddle filled with piss from greedy chinese corporations. Screenprotectors? Sure, they got them. You’ll just have to deal with them not sticking to the screen at all (in part to the terrible heating issues the tab s7+ has under heavy use) aswell as the ugly cutout most have to host the ultrasonic fingerprint screen.

I love my Samsung phone, I love my samsung smart watch – I love a lot about android. But I hate the Tab s7+. It could’ve been great and it turned out "just fine" – which at that pricepoint, is not acceptable.

Great review. Thanks for not asking us “if we like this or the iPad more” just to make more money off of us. You are the most honest reviewer in the industry.

I really like my Tab S7 12.9” LTE, much better than my iPad Pro 12.9” 2020. I use it as a dumb terminal a lot,, using VMware’s and Citrix’s Android clients, I connect my S7 to my insanely overpowered, Threadripper server.

The server utilizes VM’s to stream whatever OS, app or game to my families mobile devices. Though I like the S7, everyone else is now using either a MacBook Pro or MacBook Air that utilizes he new M1 CPU. All 3 machines have 16GB RAM and a 512GB SSD. I also have a MacBook 13” M1, 16GB, 512GB, but again, I use the S7 more because of it’s built in LTE and the ease at which I can connect it to my firms IBM, UNIX and Citrix’s system.

I have never used a more perfect dumb terminal, it connects to my Dell 27” touch monitor with full support, with ease, a USB C to Ethernet adaptor, a Razor keyboard and mouse, an HP color scanner/printer combo, a Samsung 2TB USB C mini HD drive, heck, even a FlashForge Creator 3 3D printer connects to it like they were made for each other. I also have an iPad Pro 12.9” 2020 that I use for music creation as those apps available for iOS are simply amazing, but that’s about it. Not when when I can run a Apache server, PHP, MySQL, Python, etc., while using Photoshop to run a batch color editing script running under a Citirx Windows session, while compiling a large program via a secure terminal on a Unix server located in India, while watching a YouTube video using a US Proxy sever because it’s location locked, while transferring files back and forth from a NAS located in the UK to another in the US, all while playing Modern Combat 5, all at the same time.

Hey Dave… STOP please!! Man make a review of the Samsung Tab S6 Lite please. There are so so many people wanting to buy this tablet instead of an ipad but cant find a independent review. Do not just do reviews of expensive devices such like Ipads Pros and S7 Plus, etc..! Think that the low and middle class people CAN NOT afford those devices you review and want something more handy for their pockets and the Tab S6 Lite its the tablet for those people. Did you read how many people say that the devices you review are so expensive???… you are not reading your subscribers feedback… They want you to review also devices that they can afford!!
