The storage battery or secondary battery is such a battery where electrical energy can be stored as chemical energy and this chemical energy is then converted to electrical energy as and when required. The conversion of electrical energy into chemical energy by applying external electrical source is known as charging of the battery. Whereas conversion of chemical energy into electrical energy for supplying the external load is known as discharging of the secondary battery.

During charging of the battery, current is passed through it which causes some chemical changes inside the battery. This chemical changes absorb energy during their formation.

When the battery is connected to the external load, the chemical changes take place in the reverse direction, during which the absorbed energy is released as electrical energy and supplied to the load.

Now we will try to understand the principle working of lead-acid battery and for that, we will first discuss about lead-acid battery which is very commonly used as storage battery or secondary battery.

    So in your cell, negative plates are hooked together and positive plates are hooked together and then in the next cell I assume the end of each positive are hooked to the negative of that cell and the end of the negative of the first cell plates to the positive of the next so to add up the voltage.
    At 1: 20-time frame in your video tell me why would SO4 -2 move towards Pb electrode if that electrode wasn’t positive in the first place or provide some positive ion to attract the SO4-2. What is up with that and why is no one catching it. If you manage to explain it, I suggest to explain it really good. So your understanding makes sense to you and to me hopefully. Thank you.

    Listen carefully starting at 2:35. "connect LEAD SULFATE COVERED LEAD PEROXIDE PLATE to a positive terminal to an external DC source and LEAD PEROXIDE COVERED LEAD PLATE with the negative terminal of an outside DC source. What are you saying, man? I have listened to what you actually said 6 times. Listen to your own self. Which plate is which my man ( which one is LEAD PEROXIDE LEAD PLATE and no sulfate)? IS THERE SOME THIRD PLATE SOMEWHERE I HAVE MISSED?
    I assume the first one, your " LEAD SULFATE COVERED LEAD PEROXIDE PLATE" is the one on the left of your video with the + sign on it.

    Watching your video I label the left electrode as Cathode and it is LEAD PEROXIDE PLATE COVERED WITH LEAD SULFATE. The right electrode as the Anode and I describe it as LEAD PLATE COVERED WITH LEAD SULFATE.
    If all these people actually watching and listening to this video doesn’t get this, it shows that most human beings are gone in the head. Can anybody please tell me if I am hearing things and it is me for god’s sake who doesn’t make sense any sense.

    If overfilled with distilled water and caused huge amount of the electrolyte to be drained, should sulphuric acid be added or the charging process will auto equalise the acid concentration?

    what would happen if there is too little sulfuric acid in the battery ? My brand new fully charged battery rolled over and lost all of the liquid . When I noticed this I added distilled water and charged the battery. I tested the battery after it was fully charged the specific gravity was only 1.200. The other similar batteries that I have have a specific gravity of 1.300 or more when fully charged. I think I need to add some sulfuric acid in the battery

    Well sorry, but your concepts are wrong. Because during charging the battery, the terminals of the electrodes are changed, i.e if during discharging, anode is negative and cathode is positive ,then during charging the battery, anode is positive and cathode is negative , in order to reverse redox reactions happening during discharging of battery.

    Sir, at 3:42 you have said "Radical Sulphate reacts with lead sulphate of ANODE"
    But while Charging process "Electrode with positive terminal acts as CATHODE which accepts electron"
    Hence ""Radical Sulphate reacts with lead sulphate of CATHODE" during Charging process
