Intel FINALLY Woke Up…Sorta – 10th Gen Desktop CPUs Explained!

Intel has been in a losing battle with AMD but their new 10th Gen Desktop processors based on the Comet Lake architecture are a bit different. They have more cores and some interesting prices. But will that be enough? There’s going to be some big performance battles here like the i9-10900K vs Ryzen 9 3900X, i7-10700 vs Ryzen 7 3800X and the i5-10600K vs Ryzen 5 3600X or 3700X.

I’m still back on 5th gen. Planning on doing a new build this winter. Looks like going 10th gen and corresponding LGA1200 motherboard is best bet for another system that will last 6 plus years

  3. Numh on December 29, 2020 at 10:22 pm

Jajajajaja another fanboy . Intel lost the battle just admit it

  4. SiqFix on December 29, 2020 at 10:24 pm

Just get B450 motherboard ($50-70) and Ryzen 5 3600 ($150-190) for gaming. This is why I have the Intel Xeon E5-2678 V3 ($100) for video editing 12c/24t helps.

I dont want this CPU is to hot is shet you wil need a car radiator to coll it down BIG FAIL from Intel I Prefer AMD new Days is beter 5 percent does not make eny diferents in perfoment

  6. Hardware Canucks on December 29, 2020 at 10:24 pm

We forgot to mention ONE IMPORTANT THING – The LGA 1200 socket has the same heatsink mount as LGA 1151 so all current coolers are compatible

  7. Mark on December 29, 2020 at 10:26 pm

Intel 10th gen chips are gaming beasts and run very cool compared to Ryzen. My i7 10700K runs at 29 degrees idle, Ryzen 7 runs at 55 degrees idle lol

  8. Duranarts on December 29, 2020 at 10:26 pm

3900x is not $500 and is disingenuous to make this price argument…

  9. Puzzoozoo on December 29, 2020 at 10:28 pm

I’ll be building a new gaming PC in 2023 after I retire, so Intel had better get its act together by then.

if u want to get a KF chip, what is the downside with no integrated graphics? i’m assuming you just use your GPU

  14. Michael Flemming on December 29, 2020 at 10:36 pm

  19. Blatantly Fake Name on December 29, 2020 at 10:40 pm

    i9-10900K $488 == 72000 yen. (Seriously, a $ 200 mark up!)

  20. DD on December 29, 2020 at 10:40 pm

Pretty soon Intel is going into 41nm….it’s called flippin’ assets. 🤣

  21. Søren Markov on December 29, 2020 at 10:42 pm

you should rename the channel to hardware cucks and talk biased opinion about apple, intel, razer etc.. would be funny as hell

  22. Ramboness on December 29, 2020 at 10:42 pm

What’s the benefit of IGP anyways?

  23. sonyvalotpc on December 29, 2020 at 10:42 pm

Intel FINALLY Woke Up…Sorta BS this is. lga 1200 is only for blue church worshiper, 10gen have nothing new to justify new socket, NOTHING probably this new 49 PIN are not even connected. but shintel everytime must sell new mobo, I BET you with new 11gen there will be new mega turbo ultra new advanced extra hiper speed chipset z590 who will allow 3% higher mega hiper sonic coling ion dissipation. EVEN INTEL is aware that 10gen and 11gen are just for milking cattle. MAYBE just MAYBE 12gen can surprise me a little

AND 375$ vs 400$ is not even cheaper!!!! WHY? intel K are sold without cooler, so you need to buy A REALY GOOD cooler, but but for AMD you should buy too, YES but this is optional (personaly I definitely recommend to buy a good one)

  24. Dustin MidNyte Driscoll on December 29, 2020 at 10:44 pm

The performance was "through the roose"? Whats a roose?

  25. Kusuma Yogi on December 29, 2020 at 10:44 pm

If on 2021 Intel still cannot delivering us 10nm or below , they Will dead.

  26. SoUtH MeMpHiS on December 29, 2020 at 10:45 pm

Man, have these prices changed quickly but I did get the i7 10700k recently from Best Buy for $400 plus tax. That will replace my i7 8700 that I really have had no complaints about. I’m going with the msi z490 edge wifi motherboard also. I’ll upgrade my gtx 1080ti later hopefully by the Fall.🤔

  27. DiamondsAreDown on December 29, 2020 at 10:49 pm

we’ll just wait another decade or so to switch back to intel

  28. Hammad Naeem on December 29, 2020 at 10:54 pm

I tolerated intel, its price gouging and competition crushing tactics. Now we have AMD product that is actually better then intel. Why stay under their thumb?

  29. Min Es on December 29, 2020 at 10:56 pm

10th gen Huh im still running my core i7 3770k and 4770 pc’s and still going strong

  30. FusionSenpai on December 29, 2020 at 10:57 pm

I have a dead motherboard and i need to get a new cpu+mobo… I’m just a casual gamer and i do graphic works. I don’t overclock (I felt I wasted so much money getting a K and a mobo that supports it and do ntg abt it) and im thinking of getting a 10700 with a H470. Any advice?

  31. JAFO-PTY on December 29, 2020 at 10:57 pm

the Intel Core i7-10700K has 16MB cache, but the 3900x has 64MB…. is this going to make a noticeable difference?

  32. Mark on December 29, 2020 at 10:58 pm

If you’re a gamer you go Intel and Nvidia. 🥇

  33. jpogi gtxcr1 on December 29, 2020 at 10:58 pm

Without amd intel would still be doing only 4 cores for the i5

  34. Thomson sunil on December 29, 2020 at 11:01 pm

    Intel: Idiot Inside

  42. SHANK Ambitions on December 29, 2020 at 11:07 pm

AMD will still the winner and will remain winner when 4000 series will be released.

  43. Mitch on December 29, 2020 at 11:10 pm

    There’s no pcie 4.0. Intel’s deep asleep

  44. Bound4Earth on December 29, 2020 at 11:12 pm

Except July happened and they lost. Even considering TSMC to make Chiplets… Damn what a fall from grace. They don’t even have anything next year! I am fine with that, not them completely collapsing, but losing more than half the market share can only help the entire market. So buy AMD with confidence that Intel doesn’t have shit in the next two years to compete on any level and help Intel become a consumer friendly company simultaneously. It is literally a Win/Win!

  45. 7Basie7 on December 29, 2020 at 11:15 pm

Which one of the 10th gen CPUs would you recommend for streaming on twitch ect?

  46. Lucidvein on December 29, 2020 at 11:16 pm

Intel should cut their prices another 25% and they would actually be in pretty decent shape.

  47. Get Mad Alex on December 29, 2020 at 11:19 pm

    I5 9500??? Woah… wrong assessment…

  48. Elijah Rodriguez on December 29, 2020 at 11:19 pm

I need an update! I have the 10700k and I also have ddr4 3600 cas16 ram, will this not work???

  49. chuckles barnett on December 29, 2020 at 11:19 pm

Intel 10th gen still doesn’t support PCIe 4.0 and for me that’s a show stopper. Video cards don’t take real advantage of it yet in performance but will in the future. There, at least is one important feature they remain behind in.

  50. Manoj Varughese on December 29, 2020 at 11:20 pm

appreciate if any updates on PCIe4 lanes/support soon
