I sold my NES – What's a Nintendo worth on eBay?

Want to check out everything Leftover? https://www.leftoverculturereview.com

So, I sold my Nintendo and I thought it’d be interesting to talk about the reasons behind it, collecting in general and what I picked up with my extra pocket money.

Leftovers is a show where I discuss anything that wouldn’t suit my main channel, the Leftover Culture Review.

I bought 96 games a top loader and original nes with all cables and controllers with the dog bone 🦴 for 50 bucks in 2001 . My buddy bought Game stop or one of those game stores inventory back then after he got paid one weekend, and 2 years later in 2001 he had it stored in a giant trash bag amd I offer him 25 bucks , 4 everything. And he said 100 . I countered with 50 and he said deal ….. I still have everything and I need to see what games I have if any are rare . Cause over half have boxes and instruction manuals. . I’m happy I went out that night cause I would of missed out on that . And I still have my original game boy in the box with everything bags ties manuals poster top of the Styrofoam packaging. Everything. I got it in 1990when I was 10 and I only played it for about a month I got it for a school trip and then I put it back in the box and put it in storage cause I got a lynx and used the hell out of it . And I don’t have the Atari hand held anymore. That thing was passed around like a free hooker that’s clean 🧽

Some great pickups with your NES money mate. Especially loving the DC choices. Subbed!

Found this through 7-Bit Gaming, and I’m glad I did 🙂
And yeah, it’s getting harder to collect for retro systems since eBay (and resellers’) prices only seem to be going up. Furthermore, I just moved to Dubai where games seem to be impossible to find.
As for not being able to collect everything you want – most definitely. I sold off my PC collection to focus on consoles, and I decided I won’t be collecting for anything older than the NES.

By itself, $50-75 these days with no or one game, $75-100 with a stack of games. I have a Zelda poster with a official Nintendo stamp and it has a 1999 date. Can anyone tell me it’s worth?

Cool stuff you got. TMNT figures look really good. I’m really fond of Game Gear, I spent a lot of time with it when I was a kid, some really fun games on it. Lylat Wars is one of my favourite N64 games.

I’m 18 years old and collect for 14 consoles, and I do think retro is too expensive… In the end, they are outdated, even if they are awesome… Would anyone pay £25 for Aliens on VHS? No, I paid 25p. Would someone pay £25 for AvP Jaguar? Well I did, but I kinda regret that. It’s 21 years old, and no amount of awesome games (although I have tons XD) or rare titles will change that. I draw the line on a ‘norhing too special’ game at £50.

I don’t find the hobby to be getting too expensive, but what I do find is that collectors are getting greedy and expect to pay the bottom dollar on everything they find. It makes me feel like a lot of YouTubers are showing off their "deals" rather than their love of gaming.

My problem with the NES is, for me, there just aren’t enough games that I want to play on the system to justify owning it (other than maybe Balloon Fight and Mega Man). It seems to be hyped up too much.

Excellent video man. Retro game collecting is definitely expensive if you’re going after the same titles as everyone else. I’ve had to shift focus away from the games that everybody wants, the NES and SNES games, and stick to finding what I Can in thrift shops, which has been mostly PS2, Xbox/360 and Wii games. I think it’s about being opportunistic. Because the currently retro games are already expensive, but eventually these games are going to be expensive too, so why not get them while they’re cheap?

Which isn’t to say I don’t retro collect. I definitely do. Just every now and then I snag what I want in between finding what I can get on the cheap. 🙂
