Mobile phone numbers in the country often begin with the prefix zero seven. But now, you will soon be using mobile numbers beginning with the prefix zero one. Communications Authority Director General Francis Wangusi says the country has exhausted the use of the zero seven prefix hence the decision to add the new numbering prefix. Already Safaricom and Airtel have secured blocks for the new number in what is now signaling high demand for sim card use. The new prefix will accommodate a hundred million numbers.
