While there was many Batman games based on the 1989 movie I would argue that this game is arguably the best of the bunch being contested by the NES game only. Great control, better balanced difficulty and a music soundtrack to die for. Plus you get to drive the Batmobile and Batplane which I feel was sorely missed from the NES game sadly. While I love this game and the NES game equally, finding this game nowadays on actual cartridge is a feat since it seems to be rather rare. Either way whether you play it on the cartride (like I did for this video) or on emulator this game is well worth the time and effort to play. A true classic! Hope you enjoy!

Thank you so much. I was stuck on the second level cause of the end boss and the crates and you helped me out tons. I’m new to this game and Genesis lol

Game still holds up to anyone that still enjoys retro memory lane when they feel like going down that lane anytime they want to. I still have this game and the Genesis.

that car stage is way better than those clunky tank battles in arkham knight especially the cloudburst battle

  15. LemmyJackAndCoke on December 25, 2019 at 4:40 am

It’s quite a hard game. but yet a Sega classic.

They fucked up on The Joker. He doesn’t throw ground fireballs in the 1989 Batman film.

  20. Ali Nasir on December 25, 2019 at 4:44 am

we dont get these types of themes nowadays

  21. Gatanaz on December 25, 2019 at 4:47 am

I always thought back then 90’s that the Joker was way cooler here because of those long guns and shock wave not like batman that all he does is he punch

  22. JinRoh on December 25, 2019 at 4:47 am

Very different from the NES version.

  23. Bryan J on December 25, 2019 at 4:49 am

music and the punch sound are very good

  24. VideoGameObsession on December 25, 2019 at 4:49 am

awesome game! Thanks for playing it on ACTUAL HARDWARE! Most emulators get the punch sound wrong and it just sounds terrible! So thanks again!:)

This is what missing from the gaming community these days I love the fact that the game was different depending on the console you had wish they remake all the old batman games for the new age consoles

  28. N Afzal on December 25, 2019 at 4:54 am

We got this twice from blockbuster. Such a tough game but the music was amazing

  29. The 80's Slasher Librarian on December 25, 2019 at 4:54 am

Such dark credits! Batman murders Joker and we get to look at his dead body for the entire credits!!! 🙂 lol the NES version does the same thing as far as having batman just straight up throw joker over the side in essence murdering him lmao and why is this joker so easy compared to nes version where you have to punch him like 1,000 times! 🙂

  30. celvester allison on December 25, 2019 at 4:55 am

Love the end song. Very unique for a game like this at that time.

  31. Trantor The Troll on December 25, 2019 at 4:56 am

I don’t like his walk at ALL lol. it looks nowhere near as cool as the NES version.

The beauty of 90’s game is you can remembered all the angle and movement of your character in each stage. This is why 90’s gamer can actually beat the game many times….and it’s really huge satisfaction to mastered a game on that day!!

  38. Drikvy Cappenberg on December 25, 2019 at 5:03 am

this is my first game for sega. so notalgic, i was playing this game in 1997

  39. naruteoh123 on December 25, 2019 at 5:03 am

Joker with power wave is awesome.

  40. S4ns on December 25, 2019 at 5:05 am

So, SEGA could use pictures from the film but not the actual soundtrack?
Also, the Flugelheim Museum had a lot more moving platforms and spike traps than I remember.

Memories. The batmobile part reminds me of super spyhunter. Another classic vehicular combat. And it was a really good cyberpunk back in the day.
