This convenience store I shop at has had this sitting behind the counter for some time. I got tired of seeing it sitting there so I bought it.
I can not get the firmware to update, nothing happens. I tried several times. tried renaming the file before, after transfer.
I heard you say 16 gig sd card. I’m using 64 gig. I also downloaded to my android.
    Is that the problem?
Did you have any problems with it?

My only question is do the already existing atgames paddles work on it?????

  3. David Senger on February 26, 2021 at 9:55 pm

  5. Arkdov on February 26, 2021 at 9:56 pm

I was wondering if anyone experiences any input lag from the wireless controllers on the Atari Flashback 9 Gold?

  6. MASH 4077 on February 26, 2021 at 9:56 pm

Do you know if the games that we put on the sd card will also work on one of the atari portables

  7. Mattyfresh Universe on February 26, 2021 at 9:56 pm

  8. Topaz on February 26, 2021 at 9:58 pm

  9. RETROnuts on February 26, 2021 at 9:59 pm

I can’t play mine, its unplayable, it responds very slow,Try and play Breakout you can’t. The joysticks were weird and move not like a Atari joystick, they might look like them but they are not.

Walmart has the AF9 on clearance for $11. I just went to my local Walmart and picked up 5 units for $55. Why and the hell do I need more than one unit you my ask. Well, I now have plenty of replacement parts in terms of controllers, psu’s, and control decks. This purchase was a no brainer. The question of the day remains… Have you played ATARI today??? Buckle up and game on!!!

    Boulder Dash!!!

  12. arem dvna on February 26, 2021 at 10:00 pm

I kind of want to get one, to see the reaction of my son on the graphics. He said the graphics on Playststion Classic were so bad. It might also look nice next to my NES Classic, SNES Classic and Playstation Classic.

The entire Atari on my flash drive is around 8 megs. 500 games or so. I grew up on this later in life I was hooked on Doom and Duke Nukem. But Atari is where my memories of being a 9 yr old are. Love it all!!

  14. jvanb231 on February 26, 2021 at 10:02 pm

I have the flashback 8 which has the wrong frogger and wrong space invaders. Does anyone know if they put the original 2600 versions on the 9 or later?

  15. Tyler Aguiar on February 26, 2021 at 10:03 pm

I’m interested in getting this. I might add the Kool-Aid game.

  16. DragonChaserKev on February 26, 2021 at 10:04 pm

I grew up with it in the early to mid 80’s… wondering if I should get the 9 or spend a bit more for a flashback X, they lived long enough to release it. I wanted to know how long the cords are but you didn’t mention it in your review.

  17. Mr G on February 26, 2021 at 10:05 pm

My only issue with the Atari games is, where the cheats, like a game genie, game shark, ect.

  24. Merimurmeridious09 #2 on February 26, 2021 at 10:15 pm

Back in 2013 I got my first console ever, it was the first atari flashback but I don’t have it anymore

  25. Jason Turner on February 26, 2021 at 10:16 pm

Just got one for myself for my man cave. I have a smart TV, but also an old 13" color tube TV that I like to use for stuff like this (adds to the nostalgic factor). Therefore, I might be the only one who would have liked an RCA connector (but didn’t want earlier Flashback units….. gotta put every game on the SD card!). I’m using an RCA/HDMI adapter, but occasionally when going into a game or coming out of one, the display gets all wonky (hard to describe… looks like someone messed with the vertical or horizontal hold on an ancient TV). Resetting a game or starting a new one from the controller makes the picture normal again. Is it because I’m using an adapter, or does this also happen occasionally when using an actual HDMI input TV?

  26. Mark Racer on February 26, 2021 at 10:16 pm

I find myself playing your video over and over…. The Atari Flashback 9 is an incredible piece of hardware history!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  27. Denise L on February 26, 2021 at 10:16 pm

Bugs!!!!! I loved my Bugs and would stay up past midnight at 12-13 playing it in the 80’s. 🙂

  28. S/V Lusca on February 26, 2021 at 10:17 pm

No pole position and Vanguard 👎🏼

  29. edith pdlp on February 26, 2021 at 10:18 pm

Why the flashback does not have pac man?

  30. Mark Rittman on February 26, 2021 at 10:22 pm

Anyone know how this would look on an old analog TV? I have a converter.

  31. Smashking383 on February 26, 2021 at 10:22 pm

My Atari Flashback isn’t reading the sd card it says on the Box it’s model number is AR3230

  32. GothGirlWorld on February 26, 2021 at 10:24 pm

    Uh.

  33. Robert Poss on February 26, 2021 at 10:29 pm

I bought the first version that came out and the images were so pixelated on a big screen TV (65 inch) that it was a real distraction and made the game a pain. Are the later versions better and less pixelated?

  34. Dan Banks on February 26, 2021 at 10:29 pm

You’re better off banging rocks against your head on the side of a river than playing with Atari 2600. 🤢🤢🤮🤮🤭🤭🤨

  35. Marc Patihk on February 26, 2021 at 10:31 pm

How does the version 9 compare to the previous models ,8 and 8 gold ?

  36. Darthie on February 26, 2021 at 10:35 pm

For the start with Red Dead Redemption II and the Flashback are somehow similar! Red Dead was on Atari!

  37. Lee Vet93 on February 26, 2021 at 10:35 pm

We had a brand new Atari 2600 when it debuted I believe in 1983. The system was great and we really enjoyed it for years.
ATARI has come out with some of the most iconic games of all time. TEMPEST, STAR WARS, BATTLEZONE, BLACK WIDOW, FOOD FIGHT, ASTEROIDS.

  38. David Senger on February 26, 2021 at 10:36 pm

Can you use a standard brick adapter like the nes mini has don’t want to break this cheap thang

  39. Zytron Smith on February 26, 2021 at 10:36 pm

Great video man…!!! Yes, I did grow up with a atari 2600 when it first came out… Great childhood memories so, yea I will be getting all the games I can for it… and another thing if you really like Red Dead II get the PC version, its way better then any of the console versions… 🙂

  40. Rachel H on February 26, 2021 at 10:36 pm

We cannot seem to find Frogger or Space Invaders on this console. It is shown on the box but we’ve searched the list and cannot find it. Is it preinstalled or do you have to download it?

  41. IntangibleStudd59 on February 26, 2021 at 10:39 pm

  48. DFN UNIVERSE on February 26, 2021 at 10:47 pm

ROBOTRON 2084 AND DEFENDER WERE THE BEST GAMES IN THE ARCADE BESIDES THE PAC-MAN SERIES IMO 😃. I CAN’T FIND ROBOTRON ON PACKS OR SETS IN FULL ARCADE VERSION EXPERIENCE BUT I DO SEE THE ACTUAL ARCADE CONSOLES FOR AROUND $3000 (FULLY RESTORED).

ROBOTRON GAME PLAY IS UNMATCHED FOR SUCH A SIMPLISTIC GAMING PROGRAM BUT YOU’LL NEVER FIND IT FOR iPHONE, UNFORTUNATELY. I DID FIND DEFENDER IN ATARI FOR iPHONE BUT THE GAMEPLAY IS NOT QUITE THE SAME AS THE ARCADE VERSION THAT I USED TO PLAY FOR HOURS! 😅😜👀
