Alta Devices Flexible Solar Cells using Gallium Arsenide

Alta Devices manufactures thin flexible solar cells using Gallium Arsenide, holding the world record in efficiency (29%) that convert light into electricity, which can be used in unmanned systems, consumer electronics, Internet of Things, Wearables, automotive, remote exploration, or anywhere that size, weight, and mobility matter. Alta Devices holds world records for both cell and module single junction conversion efficiency. For more information see http://www.altadevices.com and http://www.IDTechEx.com

Sell your company to a communist enemy to a free world but brag about them being made in America for now? 😂

That 29% efficiency is just the record but the products they offer have no efficiency advantage over more common crystalline solar cells. See more on miasole.com where they advertise 16 to 17% flexible panels. There is no clear degradation data they just mention 10 to 25 years warranty against power loss but no future data as far as I can see.
I like to see more competition and option on the solar PV market but not sure this will be a success since there are not many advantages if any and price will probably be higher.
    Thanks for the video.

They already have the solar technology for 40% efficiency but the new owner refuse to built the manufacturing plant for it. Here is the link for that information.

A great solar cell has to be a great LED: So what’s wrong with subsidized solar panels?

Yet all the screeching prius driving psychotic big-mouth hippies are lining up at the gas station instead of for these things. Ban coal before you have an affordable stable alternative that we control, right?
