    To make this work

    1. Get foreign cart
    2. Learn that language
    3. You got the wrong game
    4. Get noob, no game 4 u

Don’t follow this and destroy the cartridge tray. Just buy a region free cartridge tray or buy a game not from your region and swap backs with your region cartridge from a game you don’t use much. Or use gameshark to play other region games

The Game Japanese and American Mario 64 game can’t not Switch to Different game in the same Console because you can Damage the AV Video input and output In your Game Console By Continuing Switch Both side you can Ruin your Pixels and Audio in Any Game that you have with you!

A simple way to play JPN games on NTSC consoles is to buy a 99 cent US cart and swap the backs with a JPN cart. Easy and you don’t have to "mod" your console.

  21. AdamLW71 on December 14, 2020 at 10:14 pm

Or get a region free 3d printed cartridge thingymbob to slip inside.

  22. The Deaf Prince Gaming on December 14, 2020 at 10:15 pm

Or you can use the game bit to get a cheap sport game you never liked and switch the back out of the cartridge of the Japanese game. Just saying.

  23. andriadavid stankovic on December 14, 2020 at 10:15 pm

I just got a American n64. Does playing PAL N64 games on it damage the system?

  28. Robert Kinoshita on December 14, 2020 at 10:21 pm

Are you sure that there is no difference in the circuitry that prevents NTSC consoles from running Japanese carts?

  30. PhoenixVG on December 14, 2020 at 10:26 pm

They sell cartridge trays on ebay to replace the American/Japanese blocked one. so you don’t have to cut yours, just a simple swap

  31. Adrian Vitela on December 14, 2020 at 10:27 pm

Found a Japanese OOT for 20$

  32. Ngl I’m bad at making names my G on December 14, 2020 at 10:27 pm

So how do I make my pal n64 region free

  33. Michael J on December 14, 2020 at 10:28 pm

Easier fix, just swap out the back plate of the import game cartridge with the back plate of a US game.

  34. ButterCCM on December 14, 2020 at 10:29 pm

You should do another video like this

  35. darkhedgehog23 on December 14, 2020 at 10:29 pm

I think it will be much easier just removing the cartridge tray at all.

  36. Juke Lexis on December 14, 2020 at 10:30 pm

so its not possible to play EUR games on the japanese N64 what a bummer 🙁

  37. Matchbox Studios on December 14, 2020 at 10:35 pm

  38. Drew M on December 14, 2020 at 10:35 pm

  39. EEK Turk on December 14, 2020 at 10:36 pm

  41. AdamLW71 on December 14, 2020 at 10:39 pm

Hi, big fan but pray tell me Mr Nintendrew I have read you cant do this ro a japanese console and play pal games on it. Is that right?

  42. RC568 on December 14, 2020 at 10:40 pm

Just switch the back of the cartridge

  43. darrell on December 14, 2020 at 10:40 pm

You could just remove the tray and the doors to play your Japanese carts without having to permanently alter your n64

  44. PunitiveLoki 818 on December 14, 2020 at 10:44 pm

Nintendrew: “How to make your N64 play Japanese games with a 10-min mod!”
Also Nintendrew: Does the mod in 5 mins
    Me: Impossible.

  45. darrell on December 14, 2020 at 10:46 pm

Bought a Japanese Pikachu edition n64 and swapped out that trey with my black plain na n64 , just put a couple Japanese games in my swapped out n64 it wouldn’t play. Cart fit good the screen just wouldn’t change acknowledging the n64 was on

  46. Card Shopper on December 14, 2020 at 10:48 pm

Cant u just switch hard covers ?

  47. zibbon50cal1 on December 14, 2020 at 10:51 pm

Will the same method work for Japanese consoles?

  48. J.L. Avey on December 14, 2020 at 10:51 pm

When I tried to clip out the plastic bits like I did long ago in my SNES, I found out that the N64 I bought used twenty years ago was already modded to play imports.

  49. mockier on December 14, 2020 at 10:54 pm

Nice and quick vid. Looks like it will almost be the same to make my Japanese N64 Play US games (I have a PAL N64 too).

  50. SuperTiaanBro on December 14, 2020 at 10:56 pm

I would mod my n64, but I don’t own any japanese carts.
